Educator Mini Grants The Marion Education Foundation utilizes a majority of its funding to provide classroom grants and scholarship opportunities for deserving students. Honor awards are given to students and leaders who have excelled beyond the expected abilities.Grants Mini Grants - established to support innovative teaching projects within our school district. Six basic grants are awarded annually by the foundation, three grants each fall and spring semester. The grants are used for innovative teaching ideas, projects to enhance students' academic experiences, expansion of existing educational programs, participation in leadership and extracurricular activities, or assistance in the promotion of student research or beautification projects for the district. Mini Grant Awards 2009-2010 The Marion Education Foundation was proud to award the following staff members Mini Grants for grants totaling $3,000.. Some of these grants were made to enhance the classroom curriculum and some were awarded the distinction of becoming ongoing awards each year. Mini Grants were awarded as follows: Elementary Summer Library Program: Campuses- Krueger Primary & Karrer Campus -Debra Krueger-Coordinator. Continuing Program to be named- Marion Education Foundation Summer Library Program Playground Equipment: Karrer Campus-Julie Brown-Principal Microscope (2nd Grade), Krueger Primary Campus-Kathy Pemberton-Teacher Elementary Music Program (Base Program Xylapone),Krueger/Karrer Campuses-Kelly Kilpatrick-Music Teacher Elementary After School Art Program (Art Supplies),Krueger Primary Campus -Lana Zunker-teacher. Continuing Program to be named Marion Education Foundation After School Art Program Krueger Elementary Running Club (5K Fun Run/Walk),Krueger/Karrer Campuses-Buddy Albro- Physical Education Teacher C-Scope Supplemental Science Curriculum, Krueger Elementary Primary Campus-Joanne Chambers- on behalf of all Kindergarten teachers Classroom Science Program (Discovering Science Program Curriculum),Krueger Elementary Campus- Susan Gudgell-Pre-Kindergarten Classroom Microscope Slides and Equipment, Marion High School- Krista Schulze 2006-2007 |
