Marion Education Foundation Awards 19 Scholarships The Marion Education Foundation awarded eighteen $500 scholarships and 1 second-year scholarship for $250 dollars. A breakfast was held to honor these students and their parents on May 26th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church's Parish Hall.

Awarded one of six  Marion Education Foundation Scholarships were:
Katelynn Bevel, Elizabeth Cole, Danielle Chase, Elizabeth Holden, Jessica Gonzales, and Destiny Aiken.  Awarded a second-year scholarship was Megan Williams.

Awarded one of 12 named scholarships were: "Bobby Alston"

Marion Education Foundation
This foundation was created in 2002 to support educational programs and recognize both the students and the educators of Marion ISD.

 

The Foundation:

  • Shares a vision of enhancing education
  • Works to increase private support for educational activities not funded by tax dollars
  • Fosters creative approaches to education through private grants and involvement
  • Awards foundation funds through a volunteer Board of Directors made up of business, community and educational leaders

 

2009-2010 Foundation Goals & Objectives:diploma

  1. Fund six $500.00 senior scholarships
  2. Fund eight special senior scholarships
  3. Fund six competitive teacher grants at $200.00
  4. Fund three campus grants at $300.00
  5. Fund the elementary and middle school citizenship awards ("Spanky")
  6. Initiate a 2009-2010 Annual Campaign for donations
  7. Establish an employee membership program
  8. Fund an end of the year teacher/employee appreciation banquet/dinner
  9. Improve our foundation website and add an alumni section for reunion information
